Hello and a warm welcome to my blog!
I am glad you found your way here. If you are reading this, you are standing at exactly the same starting point as I am: at the very beginning of a huge adventure.
You might look at the calendar and wonder: “April 2027? That is still a long way off. Why is someone already blogging about it?”
The answer is simple: a major journey does not begin when you step out of your front door, board a train or get into a car. It begins the moment you decide that you are really going to do it. My personal countdown starts now. The official departure date is 1 April 2027, but the road leading there is at least as exciting as the destination itself.
The first stage: code instead of carry-on luggage
Before I pack my backpack, plan routes or apply for visas, I am facing a completely different challenge: building the digital foundation. Right now, everything revolves around creating this website and setting up the CMS – the content management system – properly.
I want this to become a place where I can share the adventure with you without filters. That also means showing the back-end structures, design decisions, server setups and the process of finding the system that will carry my stories later on. I am not a professional, but I am working my way into it – and I will take you along for every step, every success and every system crash.
Why I am doing this – and why you should stay
This blog will grow over the coming months. You will not only see how the website takes shape, but will soon also find:
- The real numbers and how I am financing the dream
- The process of sorting out my current life – minimalism training included
- Detailed route planning, equipment tests and bureaucratic hurdles
In short, I am documenting how a big idea becomes reality one step at a time. I want to show what it really takes to put an ordinary life on pause for an extraordinary journey.
Be there from the beginning!
This first post is the digital foundation stone. The CMS is running, the design is taking shape, and from today the countdown is ticking relentlessly backwards.
