Accessibility

MDRUDW should be open to everyone.

This website is designed to remain as reliable as possible regardless of device, input method or personal accessibility needs.

Our goal.

MDRUDW follows the WCAG 2.2 Level AA requirements. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing part of design, editorial work and technical development rather than a one-time check.

What is already in place.

Keyboard and focus

All essential functions can be reached without a mouse. Focus indicators remain clearly visible.

Language and structure

German and English are identified technically. Headings, landmarks and status messages follow a clear structure.

Contrast and readability

Text colours, sizes and touch targets are tuned for readability and controls of at least 44 pixels.

Motion and preferences

Reduced-motion preferences are respected. Increased contrast and forced system colours are supported.

Images and media

Relevant images receive alternative text. Missing or unavailable media are handled without broken placeholders.

Responsive use

The homepage, travel journal, shop and route work across phones, tablets and desktops.

Known limitations.

New CMS content still depends on carefully maintained translations and alternative text. Content hosted by external platforms such as Polarsteps or social networks is outside our direct control. These areas are reviewed again during every editorial and technical check.

Report a barrier.

If you encounter a barrier, please include the affected page, the device used and a short description. Contact details are available in the legal notice.
